Starting pointA trading idea in plain English
OutcomeStructured rules + historical preview

Terrane is designed for traders who know how they want to trade but do not want to start by writing Pine Script. You describe the idea once, Terrane structures the rules, shows what it understood, builds the TradingView strategy, and checks the same system against historical market data.

1Step 1

Start with your trading idea

Open Terrane and choose Build My Strategy. Enter the trading idea in plain English or start from one of the prefilled strategy examples.

2Step 2

Refine the strategy description

Make the setup specific enough to test. Include the market or symbol, timeframe, entry logic, protective stop, profit-taking logic, and any important confirmation rules.

3Step 3

Run Strategy X-Ray

Use X-Ray to identify missing structure and review the parameters Terrane recommends for the strategy before the TradingView build.

4Step 4

Apply the recommendations

Accept Terrane's recommendations to move quickly, edit the idea, or customize the proposed settings before building the strategy.

5Step 5

Review the structured strategy

Check the entry, risk, exit, timeframe, and execution logic. Confirm that the system Terrane built still matches the trading idea you intended.

6Step 6

Inspect the Pine Script preview

Preview the TradingView code and verify that the visible implementation aligns with the strategy rules and risk controls.

7Step 7

Run the free historical preview

Choose the validation symbol and run the free backtest preview. Terrane compares historical evidence without treating one headline metric as proof of future performance.

8Step 8

Continue to full research

If the system is worth investigating further, continue to the complete research package for exact metrics, full Pine Script, deeper diagnostics, and versioned refinement.

What to look for: the goal is not to force a positive backtest. First confirm that Terrane interpreted the strategy faithfully, then use the historical result to decide what deserves deeper research.

What happens after the free preview?

The free historical preview is intentionally a first evidence check, not the complete research package. The full Terrane system adds the exact performance metrics, complete editable Pine Script v6 source, broader validation, diagnostics, reports, and version history. Historical results remain hypothetical and can differ materially from live trading.
