Risk Disclosure
Terrane helps structure and test trading ideas. It does not make a strategy safe, profitable, or suitable for live trading.
Effective September 10, 2026
Trading involves substantial risk
Stocks, ETFs, crypto assets, short positions, and other market exposures can lose value quickly. You can lose some or all of the capital committed to a trading strategy. Market gaps, volatility, liquidity changes, exchange interruptions, and broker restrictions can produce outcomes that differ sharply from a model.
Terrane is not investment advice
Terrane is software for translating user-defined ideas into explicit rules, code, and historical simulations. It does not provide individualized investment advice, recommend securities, determine suitability, manage an account, or guarantee any trading outcome.
Backtests are hypothetical
Historical simulations use past market data and modeled assumptions. They are affected by the selected date range, symbol, timeframe, commissions, slippage, order assumptions, available bar resolution, and data source. Intrabar price sequencing may be unknowable from OHLC bars, and Terrane may use conservative assumptions when order sequence cannot be established.
Past performance is not predictive
A strategy that performs well in a historical period can perform poorly in the future. Markets change. Relationships between indicators, volatility, liquidity, spreads, correlations, and participant behavior can break down or reverse.
Small samples can be misleading
Metrics such as win rate, profit factor, Sharpe ratio, average trade, and maximum drawdown become less informative when a strategy has only a small number of completed trades. Terrane may flag low-sample runs, but the user remains responsible for interpreting the evidence cautiously.
Generated code requires review
Generated Pine Script should be reviewed in TradingView before any live use. Differences in settings, symbol characteristics, exchange sessions, market data, broker behavior, and TradingView's execution model can affect results.
Live execution is separate
Terrane's current historical-data integrations do not mean Terrane is authorized to place trades in your brokerage account. Any future execution or broker integration will be separate and subject to its own setup, permissions, risks, and terms.
